$1100 Texas Holdem
After spending a few days recovering from the bad experience in the main event down on the Peninsula, I came back to play in the $1100 dollar event.
First hand I was I looked down at AK, I couldn’t help but think it was going to be my day after the bad luck I had just experienced. I raised the blinds of 25/50 to 175 and got one caller. The flop came 10 5 2, I raised and got called again. The turn brought a Q and I thought I would bet again to see where I was at, he flat called again.
I was a little confused and thought he must have had pockets without hitting trips or maybe A with a high kicker, because if he had hit I thought he would have re-raised me.
The river came a K to give me top pair, I bet again and again got called. He turned over 10 5, flopped two pair…...... how, why??
That put me on massive TILT, I fought it and ended up playing very tight instead.
A little later, on small blind, and it came round to me with three limpers, including the button. I looked down at A’s and decided to get greedy and try and milk the pot and limped myself.
The flop came 2 3 4 rainbow, I checked, BB checks, under the gun bets, middle position folds, button raises. I think about it and decide to push all in. UTG folds and the button snap calls which makes me think I have walked into something big.
He turns over 5 6 to show he flopped the nuts!! That’s what you get for being greedy I suppose, I should have forced him out pre-flop. Still, I am out and not too happy that I had A’s busted to send me to the rail!
A couple of big weeks of poker where it seemed I used all my luck in the one tournament getting to the final table, then it deserted me! Time for a rest and, hopefully, a change in fortunes on the table!
