After the loss we can't afford anymore

Published by Shane Warne

The little master has done it again!!

Sachin Tendulkar showed again today why I have rated him the best cricketer of my time, he is such a great player.

However, that does not take away from the disappointment of losing today’s match

Today we lost 2 big moments which is why we lost. Firstly, having just removed Duminy and with Pollard facing his first ball, over 12.4, we could have ran him out and had Mumbai at 5/95 however we didn't stay calm and missed the moment.

Fast forward to the last ball of the 15th over and Sachin skies a ball to fine leg and is dropped. The score was 4/106 and Sachin was 45(40) before the ball was bowled.

Fast forward to the end of the innings and Sachin in n.o. for 89(59) and Pollard made 25(13). Those two moments cost us runs, momentum and confidence.

I know I am going on and on about the big moments but good teams become great by winning these moments consistently. The last two games we did win them and we won the matches. Today we lost them and lost the match, enough said.

In return, Out first 31 balls were terrible and we capitulated to be 4/34. We had some good contributors later in the innings to minimise the impact on our NRR but it was a disappointing day.

We now have to win our last two to make the finals. The pressure is back on!
