SHANE WARNE DESIGNS HIS OWN HOT WHEELS

I have teamed up with Hot Wheels™ and am pleased to reveal the ‘Spin King’, a limited edition, custom Hot Wheels™ car, exclusively designed by me. The toy car, which will hit Aussie shelves in March 2012, is part of the new ‘Designed By’ series and is the first Hot Wheels™ car designed by an Australian.

This is the result of six months collaboration with the Hot Wheels™ team, a limited run of only 100,000 ‘Spin King’ Hot Wheels cars will be available worldwide. I am privileged to join notable motorsport heroes such as Jorge Lorenzo, Felipe Massa, Dania Patrick and Dale Earnhardt Junior, who will all have ‘Design By’ editions featured in the 2012 Hot Wheels™ collection.

I‘ve always had a passion for cars and played with Hot Wheels cars as a kid, so when they offered me the chance to design my own, I jumped at it.

The ‘Spin King’ features a triangular flaming exhaust, as well as a large wheel spoiler. The monocot body rolls from the wing, through the sides and down to the front end giving the car a sleek, sporty style, paying homage to both classic and modern luxury sports cars. I chose black tyres mounted on black rims, coupled with electric blue paint work to bring the car to life. The car also features my lucky cricket and footy jumper number, 23, which features on both the side of the rear spoiler and on the engine cover.

I loved every minute of the design process and working with the team at Hot Wheels was great fun. The ‘Spin King’ is a fusion between all of my favourite fast cars and it’s been great seeing my vision come to life.”

Hot Wheels™ Design By Shane Warne will be available in store from March 2012.
