I think it is fantastic that Shane is better shape physically then when he played both Test Match and One Day cricket for Australia. I suppose this speaks volumes for Shane’s commitment and desire to keep him self going, when many retired players back off going physical exercise and put on added weight. Maybe, if Shane kept himself in this good nick physically, he might have prolonged his superb career for Australia who knows this, but I must state that he achieved so much in the game; it does not matter, even if Murali does hold record for the most number of wickets in both Test and One Day cricket. I suppose D. K. Lillee was the greatest fast bowler modern day cricket has ever known, but other fast bowlers went ahead of him in regard to getting more Test Match wickets. I suppose a batsman or bowler must not be judged just by the amount of wickets or runs they get, but their true quality and talent they posses, and which they bring to game, including most importantly deliver with quality performances on the cricket field. This is what Shane exactly did for Australia for many years. Nevertheless, I must confess on a lighter note that having a beautiful woman whom he loves so much is another incentive for a man to keep going. Good on you mate! Keep up the good work on and off the field.
Cheers and best wishes,
Muralidaran.
