The Ashes Preview

Published by Shane Warne

The Ashes are getting close and for the first time in so long, the Poms look like entering the first team with a side where the make-up is far more settled than the Australian one.

There are big question marks being discussed about quite a few of our players, but I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and calm down a little bit.

Yes, we have dropped in the world rankings but there has been a huge turnover of personnel in the last few years. We have some really good young guys coming through at the moment and I think we all need to be a little patient whilst the team develops.

It should be a belter of a series and I am still tipping the Aussies to come out on top by one test as they know the conditions better.

The key players for both sides are;

Australia - Watson , Clarke and Johnson

England - Strauss , KP and Swann

I think hauritz should have been the first spinner for Brisbane aso his record is good at the ground and he has been playing his role, especially last summer.... If the selectors used the same selection criteria across the whole team, there would be a few batters missing Brisbane as well.

However, Doherty has his chance and I hope he does well.

Whilst I have been a little critical of the selectors, I will through my full support behind the 11 that take the field!!

Shane , I don't follow Cricket a lot and follow MotoGP AS MY Maine Sport , But One Thing I Do Know Is .....You Could Go Back In To The Oz Team With One EYE Covered and Still Take The Ashes Alone..., It Would Be Great To See You Do This, As I Believe You Are The Best Cricketer Of All Time, And This Would Not Prove This...It Would Cement It..."FACT"
