I’ve just arrived in London and it’s almost time to beat the Poms! I’m here for the 888 Poker Ashes which kicks off on Monday in London. It’ll be a 5 test series which will be on Channel 9 later this year.
Three ex Aussie cricketer mates are joining my team including 2005 Test Player of the year Damien Martyn, former great Geoff Thomson, Dean Jones, Australia's most successful batsmen in one day internationals.
The poms will be captained by my long time rival Darren Gough. Rajasthan Royals team mate Dimi Mascarenhas, legendary fast bowler Gladstone Small and English cricketers Rob Key and Minh Patel make up the rest of the Poms poker team.
Local Aussie boys John Tanner from South Australia and truck driver Adam Kloens from Victoria have won a spot on the Aussie team through freerolls at 888poker. They arrived in the UK on Saturday in preparation for Monday’s ‘shuffle up and deal’.
We’ll play two days of the Poker Ashes and after that I’m flying to Las Vegas to captain the 888poker team in the WSOP.
I can’t wait to get the tables – the Poms are getting a flogging!

Hi Shane,
It was so brilliant of you to lead Rajasthan Royals to victory in the first IPL tournament. You are one of the best captains in IPL as you are a big motivational factor on the field. You are the best leg spin bowler world has ever seen. Delivery of the millenium is still fresh in my mind. I wish you all the very good luck for your future with RR.
I just want to know when will you be coming to India in near future in winters ? If you come to India then i would want to bowl you 2 overs of i.e. 1 over of fast bowling and 1 over of spin bowling. Also i would want to bat and play your two overs of leg spin.
I am very confident that you will definitely like my allround show.
Keep the spirit going.
Good Luck.

Warnie,
Legend song on a new album by a band called the Duckworth Lewis Method. Song is called Jiggery Pokery and it’s all about the magic ball in ‘93, the whole song! I kid you not. They launched the album at a special do at The Oval last night. Take a listen at http://www.myspace.com/dlmethod. Hill. Airious.
Enjoy.

Hi Warnie,
Fantastic few days at the Poker Ashes, congrats on your success
Are you at Lords at the moment? The reason I ask is that I have the urn, feels like I have the real thing and I just want to make sure it isn’t being missed. I can bring it to Lords for you on the last day if you are about, is Goughie wearing your shirt?
Cheers mate, it was a pleasure to meet you. Steve
